MULTICULTURAL PUBLIC SPEAKING DISTRICT FINALS
Congratulations to Samantha, David, Damien and Steven who competed in the district finals of the Multicultural Public Speaking Competition at Denistone East PS on Monday.
Damien (4M) and Steven (3/4S) competed in the Stage 2 section, both presenting speeches titled “Language Matters”. They then presented impromptu speeches, commencing with the phrase “Hey Adults”.
In an amazing outcome for our school, Damien took out 1st place in the competition. He will now progress to the Stage 2 Regional Final to be held in August.
Samantha (5N) and David (6YM) competed in the Stage 3 section. Samantha's speech was on “January 26”, whilst David convinced the audience that “Racism is everybody’s business”. Their impromptu speeches began with the phrase “Here’s my solution”.
Well done to all four students on delivering quality speeches at a district level. We wish Damien all the best for the upcoming regional finals.
