Students at Carlingford Public School follow a routine throughout the school day.
School times
- Playground supervision at 9:00am
- School begins at 9:25am
- Lunch 11:25am to 12:10pm
- Afternoon Recess from 2:10pm to 2:30pm
- School finishes at 3:15pm.
Morning procedures
Children should not arrive at school before 9:00am as there is no supervision before this time. A teacher is on playground duty from 9:00am. On wet days, children should proceed to their classrooms after 9:00am where the class teacher will supervise. Any child arriving before 9:00am must sit under the COLA and wait for the 9:00am bell to ring.
Afternoon procedures
Children are dismissed from their classroom promptly at 3:15pm. A teacher is on duty at the crossing until 3:30pm. Kindergarten teachers wait outside their classrooms for 5 to 10 minutes after which time the children will be taken to the school office. Other children wait with the teacher on crossing duty and at 3:30pm are then taken into the office by the teacher on crossing duty. Parents who may be delayed in arriving at the school, perhaps because of heavy traffic etc, are asked to telephone so that the school is aware of this. Such messages need to be received by 3:00pm to allow us time to notify the children.
After collecting children, parents are to make their way out of the school to leave the facilities free for the use of after school groups. The playground areas are not open to children in the afternoons.
Assemblies
On Wednesday's Years 3 - 6 will have their assembly at 2:30pm in the School Hall.
On Thursday's Kindergarten to Year 2 will have their assembly at 2:30pm in the School Hall.
