Class Parents
The Class Parent program exists to help parents get to know Carlingford Public School as well as each other and to help build networks and friendships for both their children and their families which can last throughout (and beyond) their journey at the school.
The program is especially designed to ensure that our new parents can learn the school’s routines and culture, as well as building new relationships for both their children and families. Within this program, our Language Representatives aim to improve accessibility and provide networking opportunities dedicated to the diverse languages and cultures of our school families.
The Class Parent is a contact point if you need help, and they will also arrange class picnics or other gatherings to help build lasting relationships as children progress through school.
The Class Parent can also help arrange a parent buddy for families with English as a second language. This is coordinated with Carlingford Public School EAL/D staff (and identified at beginning of year) and supported by the Class Parent Language representative.
The Class Parents use informal platforms such as WhatsApp to communicate and share knowledge with the parents of their class groups, giving great ability to share and interact beyond the formal learning platforms at school.
If you are interested in becoming a Class Parent or would like to get in contact with our class parent committee, please contact them at cpspcclassparents@gmail.com.
