PRESENTATION DAY
Our Presentation assemblies ran very smoothly and there has been lots of positive feedback.
A huge thank you to the students, staff and parents for making the day such a success.
Congratulations to all our award recipients as well as our 2021 student leaders. Every student should be proud of their achievements. Special mention to our Year 6 Dance group and Band who entertained us during the Stage 3 assembly. Thank you to Mrs Tramonte for her organisation of all four assemblies.
2021 PREFECTS
Congratulations to the following students who were recently selected as our Prefects for 2021,
Abigail, Christopher, Asher, Lucas, Elsa, Samantha, Ellie and David.
I’m sure these students will carry out their duties with pride and distinction. They received their badges during our prefect induction ceremony during Presentation Day yesterday. Also congratulations to the other prefect candidates who presented speeches to the school. All 22 students did a remarkable job and I’m certain would have also made great prefects.

2020 CARLO CUP
There was a good tempo to the contest from the opening whistle, even though play started in very warm conditions. Both teams looked to pass the ball to each other, leading to a fascinating contest as they traded early shots and both keepers making vital saves. The breakthrough in the game came when Croatia scored a 20 metre shot which sailed in the bottom corner of the goal. With Croatia 1 nil up, Hong Kong then dominated with numerous shots from Lewis, which the Croatian Keeper Aleks saved. Croatia finished the game victors 1-0. Great work to both teams!
Well done to team Italy who won the 3rd place playoff against Argentina in penalties.

YEAR 6 GRADUATION CEREMONY
The Year Six Graduation Ceremony will be held on Wednesday 16 December from 2:30 to 3:15pm, at school. This is a chance to formally congratulate our students with a certificate that recognises all the hard work they have put into their time at primary school. It will take place in a similar fashion to the Presentation Day, in that parents will need to check in as they arrive. The only entry will be through the Library gate on Rickard Street. Due to ongoing restrictions on numbers, each family can bring a maximum of two people. Unfortunately, any extras will need to be turned away.
YEAR 6 FAREWELL
The Year Six Farewell will take place on the evening of Wednesday 16 December at the Epping Club. Students are to arrive at the venue from 7pm and are to be picked up at 9pm. Families will need to make their own travel arrangements to and from the venue. Students must be collected by an adult. They are not to walk home unaccompanied.
The dress code for the Epping Club is "clean, neat and tidy". The school asks that students wear something smart and casual. The School P&C have kindly covered the cost of the farewell to ensure that no students miss out this year.
YEAR 6 BIG DAY IN
The Big Day In is a fun motivational day of activities. It is an action-packed event designed for students celebrating the end of primary school. The students are going to get wet, wild and messy in an atmosphere fuelled by participation, teamwork and leadership.
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE 2021
‘Camp Australia’ will be our new provider for before and after school care at Carlingford Public School, commencing January 2021. They will also provide vacation care for our community during the school holidays.
Last week, over 130 of our families participated in the interactive sessions where questions were addressed regarding OSHC – including the programs that we offer, registration, booking, billing and the Child Care Subsidy.
Camp Australia are now taking BOOKINGS FOR 2021. Click here to register and book in your 2021 before and after school care requirements.
TOYS AND TUCKER CAMPAIGN
The Toys ‘n’ Tucker Campaign has officially finished at Carlingford Public School, with the final donations coming in yesterday. The S.R.C. are immensely thankful to all parents, guardians, children, staff and community members who enthusiastically donated to the campaign. We collected a tremendous amount of food and toys and we’re excited to announce that we have exceeded our goal of filling 31 hampers!
The donations have been boxed up and taken to an Anglicare warehouse. From there the boxes will be unpacked, placed into hampers and delivered to families facing hardship from all walks of life over the Christmas period.
I would also like to say thank you to the SRC members who gave up their time before school to collect and sort donations. In addition to the SRC, I would like to thank the students in 3/4O for all the effort they put into safely storing, counting and boxing the donated items.
An update on the exact amount of food and toys donated by the school will be provided before the end of term.
Mr Oram, Miss Cheung on behalf of the S.R.C.
CARLINGFORD AND EPPING NEIGHBOURHOOD TRAVEL SURVEY
Late last year, City of Parramatta Council joined with Western Sydney Local Health District to launch a 3 year program to understand how Carlingford / Epping residents move around their neighbourhood. As part of the program, 725 students at our school participated in a ‘hands up’ survey.
Information about the findings of the survey has been loaded to Parramatta Council’s community engagement portal www.participate.cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au
The city of Parramatta and Western Sydney Local Health District are inviting people who live within the study area to participate in the 2020 survey. Residents who live in the area (bound by Carlingford Rd, Midson Rd, Marsden Rd, Pennant Hills Rd, Moseley St) can click here to complete the survey
The survey is available in English, Chinese and Korean. The survey window closes at midnight Monday 14 December. Twenty $50 gift cards are up for grabs for lucky participants randomly selected.
2021 PLANNING
Planning has commenced for our 2021 classes and class structure. We are expecting to start the year with approximately 826 students spread across 32 classes. In an effort to get staffing, student placement and resourcing as accurate as possible, it’s critical that we know how many students will be returning to CPS in 2021.
A SignMee note has been distributed for your individual children in Years K - 5 this week. Would you please log on and complete this short form for each of your children to notify us if:
· Your child/ren will be returning to CPS at the start of Term 1, 2021 – Friday 29 January.
· Your child/ren will be re returning to CPS, but late (please provide date)
· Your child/ren are not be returning to CPS. If your child is not returning to CPS we ask you to also email or provide a letter to the office.
Please complete this survey at your earliest convenience.

Principal.
