For Book Week this year the students will have the opportunity to experience one of two wonderfully entertaining shows. K – 2 students will taken into the topical science-driven world of bees through the Co Theatre Physical production of Royal Jelly. An interactive show that combines comic characters, vivid story-telling, bee facts, puppetry and physical theatre that poses questions with the aim of extending young minds.
Years 3 – 4 will be treated to an entertaining show by Ruben Meerman called ‘The Surfing Scientist.’ Ruben is a surfer with a physics degree and a passion for science and education. He has appeared on several TV shows and has written 4 children’s science books.
Years 5 – 6 will also see Reuben Meerman in his performance about Climate Change. He explains the fundamental science behind climate change with spectacular live demonstrations, engaging visuals and exciting experiments.
As well as these fabulous performances, students are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character for other fun literacy based activities. This year the theme for Book Week is Reading is my Secret Power.
