CARLO CUP GRAND FINAL 2019
It was jubilation for Belgium as they claimed the 2019 Carlo World Cup in devastating fashion. England were enjoying plenty of possession but failing in the final-third to get a good look at goal, while Belgium looked tight in defence and crisp in transition. Krittiq was a whisker away from opening the account when his left-side powerdrive almost snapped the post while glovesman Jayden parried away a Belgium snapshot at the other end. Belgium started to show more of their experience by creating a string of scoring chances that culminated in a brilliant one-two counter between Stella and Lewis which resulted in a goal to take Belgium 1-0 ahead. England refused to roll over and kept asking questions of the Belgium defence but at the other end a clever Finn touch-down and blast from the edge of the D found the back of the net to double Belgium’s advantage inside the final 5 minutes. It was three a minute later, as Finn beat his defender to steer home a strike that sealed victory. England thought they had a late consolation as Krittiq again who was looking dangerous all day, fired a fierce shot which was brilliantly saved by Neo in goals. Well done to both teams for reaching the final and congratulations to Belgium in taking out the 2019 Carlo World Cup.

NAIDOC WEEK CELEBRATIONS
On Tuesday next week (2nd July) we will be celebrating NAIDOC Week. NAIDOC Week is an Australian observance lasting from the first Sunday in July until the following Sunday. Which celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. To celebrate NAIDOC week, Year 2 will be performing a collection of Indigenous themed plays and songs. This term, Year 2 have been focusing on Drama as part of their study in CAPA. Storytelling through performance and song is an integral part of Aboriginal culture. Year 2 have learnt about different Aboriginal Dreaming stories and the important role they play in passing on stories through generations. Parents of Year 2 students are welcome to watch the performance. All students are asked to wear 'Red, Black and Yellow' for our Mufti Day and donate a gold coin as we will be raising funds for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
