KINDERGARTEN TRANSITION
This Thursday, our Kindergarten transition program enters its third day. Students have settled well into the routines of ‘big school’ and are having a great time in the classroom meeting our teachers and lots of new friends.
The program will continue for the next two weeks with the program for parents outlined below.
Oct 31 – Band, Guest speaker – Dr Rosina McAlpine
Nov 7 – Ukulele group, P&C, canteen, school counsellor, speech pathologist, after school activities.
At this week’s Kindergartren Transition session, we welcome Dr Rosina McAlpine from Win Win parenting. Dr McAlpine will share with parents current research in child development, relating to supporting children as they take the huge step of starting ‘big school’. We look forward to learning together about how we can work in partnership to support our newest school members.
We are hoping to form at least 5 kindergarten classes in 2020.
(classes of 20).
SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHS
School photos will be taking place next week on Tuesday 5 November. The photographs will include class, portrait and sibling shots.
All students in K-6 received school photograph order envelopes last week. The eldest child from each family should have also received a separate envelope for sibling photograph orders. Instructions on how to place an order can be found on the front of the envelopes.
Orders can be made online at www.advancedlife.com.au Online code: EK9 CPV XQB
We strongly encourage everyone to place an online order. If you need to pay in cash, please send the exact money in the envelope straight to the school office, not your child's classroom teacher. If you place your order online you do not need to return the envelope to school.
Payments must be made by Tuesday 5 November (Week 4).
Class, family, Year 6, prefect, SRC, library monitors and sport house captain photos will be taken on the day. Students are expected to wear full summer school uniform.
2020 PLANNING
Planning has commenced for our 2020 classes and class structure. We are expecting to start the year with approximately 795 students spread across 31 classes. In an effort to get staffing, student placement and resourcing as accurate as possible, it’s critical that we know how many students will be returning to CPS in 2020.
A SignMee note has been distributed for your individual children in Years K - 5 this week. Would you please log on and complete this short form for each of your children to notify us if:
· Your child/ren will be returning to CPS at the start of Term 1, 2020 – Wednesday January 29.
· Your child/ren will be re returning to CPS, but late (please provide date)
· Your child/ren are not be returning to CPS. If your child is not returning to CPS we ask you to email or provide a letter to the office.
Please complete this survey at your earliest convenience. We hope to finalise responses by Friday November 1, 2019.
PRESENTATION DAY 2019
This year our Presentation Day will be held at school on Thursday 5 December.
We will run the same format as last year with separate K – 2 and 3 – 6 assemblies. The K – 2 assembly will begin at 9:45am, with 3 - 6 commencing at 11:40am. The performance band, dance groups, choirs and Ukulele group will all be performing on the day.
In both K -2 and 3 – 6 assemblies, medallions, trophies and banners will be presented to recognise their efforts throughout 2019.
Parents of students who will be receiving a medallion, trophy or banner, will receive an email informing them of this. If you do receive an email, we request that you do not inform your child / children as we would like it to be a surprise on the day of our presentation.
We are hoping you can join us on this special occasion to celebrate the achievements of our wonderful students.
